Training Department

The Central Aroostook Association Training Department offers a variety of training available to our employees as well as to people from other agencies who provide supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. All direct support staff receive certifications through the College of Direct Support, Behavior Health Sciences Institute and/or other training institutions. 

The training sessions provided include but are not limited to: 
* Direct Support Professional (DSP) - to work with adults
* Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) - to work with children 
* CPR/First Aid 
* Safety Care
* Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA)
* Boundaries
* Confidentiality
* Documentation
* Mandated Reporting
* Sexuality Education

Scott Searles serves as the association's Training Coordinator and sets up all trainings, including sessions that serve as self-enrichment courses for the individuals supported by association programs.
